Sex Trafficking is a Horrific Crime, Must Be Ended

Statement

House Speaker John Boehner (R-OH) made the following statement after the House passed a series of bipartisan bills to combat the growing crime of sex trafficking:

"Sex trafficking is a horrific crime committed by cowardly monsters. Its victims are among the most vulnerable in this country - children who have run away from home, are part of the child welfare system, or have been victims of abuse or assault growing up. We must do everything we can to protect our innocent youth, ensure victims of these crimes have the support they need to rebuild their lives, and boost law enforcement resources to target criminals in the sex trafficking trade. The House has advanced a number of common-sense, bipartisan bills to stop these horrific crimes, and I hope President Obama and the Senate will join us."
